The Sheffield Games Collective Charity Game Swap returns!

Following a fabulous first event back in June, which raised over £1,700 for Roundabout Sheffield, a second SGC Charity Game Swap will be taking place at Patriot Games on Mary Street from 11am - 4pm on Sunday 15th January.

If you’ve just received a lovely stack of new games for Christmas but you’re not sure where to put them, this is the perfect opportunity to have a clear out, make space for a few new bargains, and raise money to support young people at risk of homelessness at the same time!

The game swap is effectively a games-themed ‘bring & buy' sale’ where the prices are set by you. It works like this:

  • If you have games (tabletop or video) you would like to donate, you can either bring them with you on the day of the event or drop them off at Patriot Games or The Treehouse beforehand. Those who donate games either on the day or in advance get free entry to the swap.

  • On the day, the full range of games donated will be available for people to browse at Patriot Games between 11am and 4pm. Those who haven’t donated games themselves will be asked to pay an entry fee of £3 (this includes re-entry for those who wish to come in and browse more than once - a smart strategy given that more games will turn up throughout the event!).

  • You can buy the games on offer on a ‘pay as you feel’ basis, with a suggested minimum donation of £3 per game. Card/ contactless payments will be accepted as well as cash.

  • Roundabout will also be running a raffle on the day with some great prizes to be won!

  • All proceeds from the event plus any games left over at the end of the swap will be donated to Roundabout to support their invaluable work helping vulnerable young people.

What can I donate to the swap?

All tabletop games and accessories will be accepted, including board games, roleplaying games, dice sets, etc. You can also bring along physical copies of video games, games memorabilia and collectibles. Please DON’T bring gaming consoles or other electrical equipment as we will be unable to sell these due to electrical safety regulations.
